We have to take into account what"s going on in peoples head weber. From doing this, i begin to realize that a lot of control is exerted on you by people who can control languages. Control through language: controlling language controls how you think of your future, success etc. The essence of life= meaning: things are important because the meaning you place on them is important. Therefor, the important thing in life is making sense of the meaning of things. Archaeology of knowledge : different layers that you can discern differences between, example: comte"s theory of the law of three stages. Theology, metaphysics, positivism: an uncovering of knowledge systems , each period of time: epistemologies. Genealogy of power: certain groups in society have and use the power to define what it is that can be known what it is that can be said. Power knowledge : i. e. the development of the term mental illness .
