Social change legal change: law of vagrancy begging is a crime and you couldn"t move to seek better employment. Why are there laws against vagrancy: mid 14th century bubonic plague. Direct: legal changes excel effect behaviour (ex. legislation, court ruling) Indirect: change in the law affects an institution (ex. institution of family, behaviour, attitudes, values, beliefs) Internalized within the individual: court ruling: same sex marriage. First same sex marriage couple were married after this decision. Indirect: increase in public acceptance: new legislation: bill 168. Amendment to the occupational health and safety act.
