Article says the annoying thing about enchanted is that is starts out so self-referential, an image to disney classics, but quickly when giselle enters the real world, the story tells the same thing over and over. Nominated for two golden globes and three oscars. Won best family film critics choice awards. Promoted as celebratory self-parody of fairy tale films. She goes through physical transformation throughout film, innocent in way she"s naive, but the wedding dress had a plunging neckline seeing a lot of her cleavage. She"s thinking true loves kiss is where it ends, pitiful of intimacy, but viewers know this isn"t the case reinforcing how naive she is. Her tiaras and clothes and locks become lesser and lesser and last time we see her she"s got straight hair and looking like a modern woman. She"s defined by the dark colours that she wears. In this film light = good dark = bad, racialize use of colour.
