Subject verb id review: subject (usually a noun) + 2) predicate (main component is the verb), and 3) forms a complete thought. Describes a state of being (is, am, are, was, feel, appear, look, become, seen) Can be changed to indicate past, present, or future (called, calls, will call) Ask who or what is performing the action. Subject nevers appears in prepositional phrase ( the chips *on the table* ) On the table is just additional information. There/here are never the subject of the sentence. Words like not, just, never, always (adverbs) are not part of the verb but may appear within the verb.
