BI236 Lecture Notes - Lecture 12: Immunoglobulin Heavy Chain, Dynactin, Phagocytosis
Document Summary
Cell signaling regulates where and when acin-based structures assemble. Pip2 can modulate interacion of acin with acin-binding proteins: binds capz and removes it from microilament dissasembly (monomers available for new ilaments) Pip2 binds proilin, recruits it to the cell membrane. Rho family gtpases encourage mf formaion at plasma mem. Growth factors cause dramaic changes in cytoskeleton signaling via small g proteins. Small monomeric g proteins: rac, rho, & cdc42. Capz, acin binding protein that acts as a cap to end mf, so acin cannot coninue to grow. Pip2 can ind to capz and let mf disassemble, to break down acin and make new mf. Pip2 can create an environment where there is a lot of rapid mf growth. Regulaion of protrusions in ibroblasts by small g proteins: few acin bundles or protrusions in absence of growth factors; No growth factors = no g proteins acivated. Regulaion of protrusions in ibroblasts by small g proteins: formaion of stress ibers (lpa)
