Chapter 15 organizational change, development and innovation. All org"s must change because of forces in the external and internal environments. Org"s can change: goals and strategies, job design o structure o processes o culture, people. Ppl changes should almost always accompany changes in other factors. Org"s learn through the acquisition, distribution and interpretation of knowledge that already exists but is external to the org. Development a new info occurs primarily through dialogue and experience. Learning organizations have systems and processes for creating, acquiring and transferring knowledge throughout the org to modify and change behaviour. The general change process involves: unfreezing current attitudes and behaviours, changing them, refreezing the newly acquired attitudes and behaviours. Several key issues must be dealt w during the change process: accurate diagnosis of current situation, resistance that may occur by unfreezing and change, performing an adequate evaluation of the success of the change effort.
