Athens has lost wealth base to macedonians, therefore macedonians are now in charge of the wealth of greece. Philip has introduced a sarissa which is a 14-20" lance that soldiers carry. Philip is now offering the greeks some peace. More and more cities are aligning with him. Athens resists him, and tries to fight then goes with their original and join with philip. Philip imitates the athenian government called the hellenic league. When philip finally acquires all of greece he wants to gather them all together and attack the persians. He wants to be in control of the persian empire because they are inherently anti-persian. This becomes the hellenic leagues common cause, they will organize and attack the persian emprire.
