Really long poem wirtten with a specific metre that revolves around some momentus thing (like a quest). Lyric: was a genre in which the poet would actually recite poetry with their back to the audience. It can also be thought of as a tragedy. Homer has a deeply pervasive impact on the development of the arts and culture in 5th century greece. Lots of detail compared to adam in genesis. Iliad- men grow, die, more are born, grow die, etc.
