At the heart of mill"s philosophy was the need to maximize freedom/liberty to all areas of sociopolitical life. This philosophy argues that human goodness is simply advancing pleasure over pain. How society itself, not official laws and government, how its norms, ideas, the way society treats these things are problematic. Like a physicians, the problem of society is its attempt to make individuals to conform to a code of social behavior.
