Ronald was murdered by his neighbor who was schizophrenic, he had come into the house and killed him with an axe. Rebecca, ronald"s daughter, was assaulted but escaped, ended up watching her father be killed. The killer was sent to a psychiatric hospital for 17 years. When they were considering his release, rebecca got to meet with him and found that she could forgive him once he started crying and showing how it had affected him as well. Rj is a process whereby all the parties with a stake in a particular offense come together to resolve collectively how to deal with the aftermath of the offense and it"s implications for the future. Justice is a contest between offender and the state. Crime is a violation of people and relationships. Asked victims of what they thought about the process.
