Document Summary

A recent report by the global alliance on health and pollution (gahp) has identified pollution as the leading cause of death globally and especially so in poorer countries. Pollution has been addressed and dealt with in many developed countries to the extent that it does not to high levels of death. However, in many developing countries it is the leading cause of death. Many environmental issues are the result of a combination of population, Affluence and technology (i. e. i = p x a x t) The lesson will include an overview of the field of population research or demography with a focus on key parameters such as birth and death rates. The textbook defines demography as the study of the size, composition and distribution of human populations and the causes and consequences of changes in these characteristics. It can explain how changes human population can have consequences.
