During war: women brought into factories to keep industries running while men fought wwii. Post war: women pushed back home and limited to stay there due to the baby boom. Mass media stereotypes housewives: clothes, bodies, activities. With political rights women found out they had much more to achieve: Social problems are product of patriarchic social relationships and institutions. Sisterhood: start by stopping oppression within women: class and culture to then be able to together fight against male patriarchy. Portrays later waves of feminism as too extreme. Blames feminism for: victimhood and relationship conflicts. Everyone is seen as a person with equal rights. Liberal: equal rights and opportunities for individual realization. Marxist: critique to capitalism as women are used to produce workforce. Recognize biological difference and how it has been exploited by men.
