Causes: stress, anxiety, anger, certain foods, etc, many due to increased pressure on the neck. Hemicrania --> half of the head: 70% unilateral. Vascular migraine/headache: associated with changes in size of arteries in and outside of the brain. Constant, throbbing, pulsating pain: temples, pain may be accompanied by nausea & vomiting, sensitivity to light and noise. Caffeine, alcohol, hormonal changes/menstruation, changes in barometric pressure/altitude. Wernicke"s area is in posterior of the head --> responsible for language comprehension. Broca"s area is in the front of head --> responsible for language production. In right handed people: both areas on the left side; in left handed people, both areas on right side.
