Document Summary

Egypt is also defined by a river (nile) It is essentially and island because it is surrounded by a desert. The nile is one of the most consistent rivers in the world. People are able to live along the river quite comfortably because they have a consistent food source. They develop differently because of the terrain. There was two different cultures that divided egypt into separate countries essentially. The creation of one state happened around 3150 bce (around the time of last week"s legends) The myths this week relate to the unification of egypt. We know more about common people at this time because of things like house models that have been found. Egyptians begin to worry about immigration and how canaan"s begin to disregard. This made it easier to conquer parts of egypt. Instead of worshipping hundreds of gods they worshipped aton (sun god) They re-establish control but never to the point that they were at.
