Plato"s allegory of the cave (republic, book vii) Plato"s argument is that every society, all our beliefs and values with people are as if we are in a movie theatre. Every society is as if the people in that society are living within a movie theatre. Most of us, have no access to anything but the real. Questions what would happen if one of the prisoners goes free. > says they wouldn"t want to go free, because they don"t know what its like. > however if they did they would see a passageway and go through and than get disoriented by the light ( eyes would need to adjust to new light > knowledge )
