Monday, march 5, 2018: new universities in ghetto-suburbs, alienation of the young people in the consumer society. The nanterre campus: isolated campus, surrounded by shanty towns, site of extreme left protest movements, movement of march 22, may 2: closure of nanterre after months of demonstrations, the sorbonne becomes the epicentre of the student movement. Campus in the heart of paris, latin quarter. May 3: evacuation of the sorbonne by the police 500 arrests more than 100 people injured. Student protest gain the sympathy of the press and public opinion. May 6: 30k students march down the champs elysees, violent confrontations in the latin quarter between students and police. May 13: students occupy sorbonne, throughout france workers demonstrate with the students, general strike. May 16: student demonstrators occupy the odeon theatre and are removed by police.
