Individuals memory, attitude: parts of individuals cellular or brain level. Starts at the earliest page of recorded history. Started when people wondered about human nature and human behavior. Curiosity about how people think, feel or why people do things. Psychology = philosophy: no unique domain of psychology, philosophers were the ones arguing about what it meant to be human, alive, and to experience things, used questions, testing and hypothesis tools used, philosophers provided the foundation. Questioned whether the mind and body were one thing or whether each functioned seperetaly. First to promote testable/empirical investigations of the natural world. Also looked for the basic purpose of all objects and creatures, concluding that humans are closely related to animals.
