Document Summary

Have to wait for an event to happen. Used to give basic info about what we find. Uses statistics such as the mean, the standard deviation, the range (known as measures of central tendency) Normal distribution (bell shaped) (have the people in this country are below average intelligence) they have to be b/c the average is the middle. Measure variability\variability- tells how spread out scores are from the mean. Little variability: all scores are close to the mean. Standard deviation is an index score-based on the distribution. Tells where, in relation to the mean of a particular score falls. Add all the scores then divide by the number of scores in the set. The one that falls in the middle of the distribution. Involves measuring and determining the relation between two variables. More rigorous in terms of control, empirical measurement and statistical analysis. Positive correlation: as one variable goes up, the other does too. ( time studying and grades)
