Document Summary
Primary reinforcers: stimuli that are reinforcing because they satisfy biological, directly affects our biological needs needs (e. g. food, drink) Secondary reinforcers: acquire reinforcing properties through association with, indirectly affects our biological needs primary reinforcers (e. g. money, praise) Individual has to be able to naturally produce a behavior or shaping. Shaping: reinforce successive approximations toward a final, reward slow progressions until the person reaches the goal response. Continuous: every time a behavior occurs, every time you perform the behavior that is desired, you, learning is fast, but extinction is fast are rewarded. Partial: ratio or interval, fixed or variable. Require a behavior occur a set number of times for each reinforce. Also involve counting the number of times a behavior occurs. Number of behaviors allowed to fluctuate around some average amount. Interval schedules: emphasis is on ratio of reward to time. The reward is given after a set amount of time.
