Examines: changes in biological, physical, psychological, and behavioural processes as we age, you can combine more than one process together when looking at any age. Nature and nurture: is it the environment or heredity, the relative contribution of heredity and environment. Continuity vs. discontinuity: gradual or stages, do you become who you are gradually or change quickly/dramatically (stage theory if it"s continuous) A) no change (flat line: remains constant, static across the lifespan. B) continuous (curved line: gradual changes, changes a little amount at a time over the years, stages, discontinuous changes, completely different; abrupt stage, stage theories. D) inverted u-shape: skills set (appears and disappears); processing speed, emerges early peaks diminishes with age, u-shape function, emerges early disappears emerges, start with a skill set/behaviour, lose it, and then get it back again, example: baby reflex.
