Interact beter: gain a greater appreciaion of development, helps us understand what is abnormal (typical or atypical) Helps one go through life if atypical symptoms occur. Criical and sensiive periods: criical period - age were experiences must occur, sensiive periods - opimal age range. Lung and skin cancer vs. brain and bone cancer.
