PS102 Lecture Notes - Lecture 4: Lewis Terman, Intelligence Quotient, Content Validity
Document Summary
Measure individual differences related to a psychological concept or construct. Personality tests measure various aspects of personality, including motives, interest, values, and attitudes. Give same test to same group of people twice and correlate the scores. All of the items of the test should measure the same thing. Consistency of measurement when different people score the same test. How well does the test score predict criterion measures. Refers to designing the test so that your score will tell you how you did relative to the population, if they had all taken the test under similar conditions. Environment=controls for extraneous factors that could differ across testing situations. The ability to acquire knowledge, to think and reason effectively, and deal with the environment. Mental age (ma)= the age at which an individual is performing intellectually. Used binet"s ma to develop intelligence quotient (iq) Used factor analysis to determine the structure of intelligence. Weschler preschool and primary scale of intelligence (wppsi)
