Chapter 13- social learning theory: environment inluences people"s behaviour which in turn determines the environment people like to be a part of, opions posses behavioural potenial, based on expectancies. 13. 2 roter"s basic formula for predicing behaviour: behaviour potenial (bp) = expectancy (e) + reinforcement value (rv) Reciprocal determinism: external and internal determinants of behaviour are part of a system of interacing inluences: afect both behaviour and various parts of the system. People when faced with new issues, imagine possible outcomes, calculate probabiliies, set goals, and develop strategies. Self-regulaion: controls behaviour in the absence of external reinforcements and punishments. Observaional learning: people can learn by observing or reading or just hearing about other people"s acions: behaviours learned through observaion need not be performed, performing an observed behaviour depends on people"s expectaions about the consequences. John b. watson demonstrated the creaion of abnormal behaviours through normal condiioning procedures. Operant condiioning takes over once the pairing of classical condiioning is removed.
