Each question in child psychology has scientific, applied and practical importance. Research about development has been stimulated by social pressures to better the lives of childen. Child psychology is interdisciplinary because it has grown through the combined efforts of people from many fields. Developmental is often divided into three broad domains: physical, cognitive and emotional and social. Physical development: changes in body size, proportions, appearance, functioning of body systems, perceptual and motor capacities and physical health.
