Mood disorders: involve disabling disturbances in emotion, from the sadness of depression to the elation and irritability of mania. Are often associated with other psychological problems (e. g. panic attacks, substance abuse, sexual dysfunction and personality disorders). Depression: an emotional state marked by great sadness and feelings of worthlessness and guilt. There are 2 major mood disorders in dsm-5: major depressive disorder (unipolar depression, bipolar disorder. Psychologizer: people who emphasize the psychological aspects of depression. Depressive disorders: major depressive disorder, persistent depressive disorder (dysthymia) Bipolar disorders: bipolar i and bipolar ii disorders, cyclothymic disorder.
