Someone"s ability to adapt to their surroundings and changing environments. Can be measured by taking into account salary, home/comfort, level of difficulty of job, years of education. The scientific study of how people think about, influence, and relate to one another. We study individuals because they make up society as a whole and we can learn about how they will behave in groups. We study behaviour so we can predict how other people might act. Concept or internal state we cannot measure directly. How we are going to measure the conceptual definition. Being unsure of yourself in new situations/with new people, lacking in social skills. Putting someone in a room of new people and counting the number of interactions they have with others in the room. Assessing their confidence from tone of voice or body language (specific markers of confidence) when they are talking to someone they don"t know.
