Document Summary

If you understand and believe that every soul is autonomous, you will never trample on its right to live: strengthens the autonomy of thought of every individual. If you ultimately feel that you own nothing and no one, you will not trample the ecology on which our survival depends: jain way of life, ed. Have a look at this 5-minute video: https://www. youtube. com/watch?v=m-3e30oovay. It"s by someone who grew up a jain, and no longer calls himself that because he"s moved away from religion as countless others do, in every religious tradition, when they become adults. What i like about this presentation is that it"s critical of the jain religion, but still supportive of the jain philosophy of non- violence. In other words, the person is able to appreciate how religious ideals and practices can affect culture at large, including people who no longer self-identify as part of a particular religion and those who have never done so.
