In this sentence, art class is a singular subject. Therefore, a singular conjugation must be used: gusta: with a plural subject, the conjugation would be gustan (e. g. me gustan los chocolates / chocolates are pleasing to me). In this sentence, chocolates is the subject: the use of indirect object pronoun indicates who is being pleased. In the example: me gustan los chocolates, meis the indirect object pronoun. So, we can say that i am pleased by the chocolates: notice that the corresponding indirect object pronoun for he/she/usted is le. And that the corresponding indirect object pronoun for ellos/ellas/ustedes is les: since these indirect object pronouns could be used with different pronouns, a clarification phase is needed.
