Present tense of tener and venir
In this section you are going to learn the irregular conjugation of
verbs, tener (to have) and venir (to come). These two verbs are among
the most used verbs in Spanish. In this section you will also learn some
expressions in Spanish using the verb to have (tener).
Learn and memorize the conjugation of tener and venir.
Notice that the irregular ending only happens in the first person
singular I (yo); yo tengo and yo vengo.
The rest of the subject pronouns follow the same endings as in
er and ir verbs see the beige box on page 92 to illustrate and
compare the endings with the regular er and ir verbs on page
88.
Pay particular attention to the stem changing forms for, usted
and ustedes the e from the stem will change to ie.
