We don"t understand, for the most part, how privilege functions. We don"t understand the ways in which its too difficult for others to speak because the risks are too high. So many people are punished for expressing their beliefs. Deviation from societal norms results in people being shamed. Many people are not afforded free speech or are not taken seriously. It is the obligation of those in power and those with a voice to help others who are otherwise unable to speak. The whole trouble being my writing has guts but i do not . Poetry is her survival and she will say and write about things that aren"t being sad. Had an abortion, talked about it, talked about family life. Believed the system of dictating what women should do with their bodies needed to change. Said maybe if i had the feminist movement i"d be okay .
