Very little research on children who parents are incarcerated. Children have few resources to maintain contact. Sesame street character was upset one day and when asked why, he said it was because his dad was in jail. He talks about the stigma one faces when having a parent in jail. He is sad that his dad won"t be there to help him grow up. Children grow up without one half of their parental system.
