Legislation was introduced to deal with a number of other business practices that had developed with respect to credit reporting, credit selling, and selling door to door. Laws were categorized in terms of product safety, product quality and performance, credit granting and credit performing, and laws directed at business practices in general. Hazardous products act : prohibits the manufacture and sale of certain dangerous products that may cause injury, subject to regulation for packaging and must include hazard warnings and indicate the type of danger by warning symbols. Motor vehicle safety act : provides for establish of safety standards for motor vehicles and vehicle parts and notice to consumers when parts are not safe, similar legislation applies to aircraft. Closely related to both consumer safety and consumer protection from deceptive or unfair practices. Protect consumers by requiring the disclosure of information about the product or service or prohibition of false or misleading statements by sellers.
