Therefore people moved to work in there conditions: not a 21st century phenomenon. 1850 1930 large migration of european groups to canada and america, therefore migration creates a different culture. 1850 1940 after world war two a large number of migrates as well. 1940 1975 a continuation of migrations of european groups. 1960 onwards decolozination is having a migration effect. Nearly half of the migrates are women and more so, traditionally the women who move to be with their husbands, today it is for independent reasons: blurring of countries of origin, transit, and destination. Usually in the past, there was a country of origin and a country of destination. Today it is not so simple to define which is the country of origin, transit or destination because often times people move around a lot and might even return to the original country: temporary migration/ transnational.
