Trier, constantine"s basilica to be painted: early 4th century basilica, fresco, not tempera, statue, grandeur of the emperor depicted in equestrian statue, bronze statues. Roman triumphal arches: taken as the model for the arch of einhard- charlemagne"s biography, made of plaster and coated in silver gild, appropriation.
