Light travels as waves & stream of photons; longer wavelength = lower energy (of photons contained) When photon hits object, it can be reflected off, transmitted, or absorbed. Light as source of energy: pigment absorbing light = excited electron = potential energy within chlorophyll used in electron transport to make energy-rich nadph & atp these 2 are used in calvin cycle to turn co2 into carb.
