Document Summary

Laboratory 3 flow chart: determining the effect of a chosen variable on photosynthetic rate. The experimental variable for this lab is the effect of distance of light on photosynthetic rate. The plant species used for this lab is camboba caroliniana. Zero electronic balance and weight out amount of aquatic plant, record weights. Prepare and close manometric system by stoppering glass tubes, administering methylene blue (between 3-5mm in length) to the 1ml mark on the pipette in a horizontal position. Set up light source at specified distance (farther at 50cm vs. against glass at 0cm) Allow system to equilibrate for 15 minutes, return methylene blue to the 1ml mark. Record measurements every 2 minutes for a total of 16 minutes. Complete experiment for 3 trials for the treatment.
