In the united states, ethanol is made from corn, and biodiesel is made from soybeans. Very small proportion in fuel bought: ideally, biofuels are carbon neutral. The amount of co2 produced by burning them is equal to the amount taken up by the plants from which they are made. They are a nearly limitless renewable resource, as long as the crops can be grown.
