Document Summary

C. elegans: they used anti sense rna to knock down gene expression. Adding anti-sense rna bind up with the sense rna inhibiting. Putting some of the anti sense rna they still got inhibition of the sense rna. (because they thought that the double rna cant interfere with the sense rna) Slide 2: developing embryo (4 cell stage) B) adding a gene (beta-galatosidase) to produce color after the addition x-gal blue violet color. This indicates that the enzyme is present. C) they added the antisense rna (single stranded) small inhibtion of the enzyme. D) putting some of the double rna (anti sense) inhibiting the enzyme completely (even with the non-stocheometry addition) There was a catalytic mechanism that is activating the mrna and promote it and re-populate all the time. It was thought that it can fight infections in c. elegans and viruses.
