COMN 3751 Lecture 5: 3751 March 8th 2016
Document Summary
We are in a sense becoming more and more liberated: joy of human agency, we have creative choices to make on how we can be in the world. Creativity is always about mixing, matching, hybridity. Culture of mash-up is an urban phenomenon. A question is, first and foremost, a type of affect that comes out of the human body. To ask a question is to experience a certain curious disposition towards something in the world: This disposition could be curious, joyous, angry, and defiant . Subjectivity is something we are located in as opposed to it being located in us in any final way: If we use a sociogical imagination to explore questions about identity we find that they don"t precede us but that we constitute them through our ways of being and acting in the world: Subjectivity is a collage and intertext of these actions mediated by texts.
