The nature of stories lead to framing, and framing in the context of news becomes ethical, it has an ethical content. Framing can be used as priming to use as a certain agenda; ultimately, the manufacture of consent so you can people to buy in policies. Media as gatekeepers and filters, such as your newsfeed (it"s filter by the content you want to see, and ads recommended from past purchases) Polling: plays several roles in elections, both constructive and entertaining (which can be damaging). Polling is one continuously by police parties by particularly politicians during elections. Symbolic communication is grounded in the real world and the symbols (words, pictures) represent things. real: semiotic communication is ungrounded (not grounded in real stuff). The signs and symbols refer to things that are one step removed from realities, they don"t refer anything in reality but in the simulacrum: baudrillard says that polling means a genuine opinion, an abstract theoretical construct.
