Because of that if we have multiple/competing discourse, we also have changing ideas in time and space where one is more privileged than the other (could be good or bad). With discourse, the definition of a person/thing/idea is never fixed. Discourse suggests movement, there"s an opportunity for change. Discourse can be laws, practices, written words, images, symbols, signs, architecture (the drawing). When we move into material practices and spaces, we talk about ideology.
