Methodology: a study of methods & the research approach employing these. Ideographic - interested in behaviours and events in the context we are studying. Let data determine what the study really is about (need to be exible) Interviews, focus groups, watching a certain group. We are just as much of a part of the data like the participants are. Experiments, surveys, & statistical analysis (under controlled conditions) Tends to be positivistic - the social world can be studied in the same way that the natural scientists are studying. Most numerical, concrete (yes or no, scale, numbers) Data is determined for you, you are given data. Interviews & observation of how legalization changed behaviour. Will engage real-world issues and criminal cases. Media readings will link methods to real-life cases.
