Paradigmatic of the kinds of things we look at and why we study police. Policing is an institution of power in society that is able to manage their impression quite skilfully. The benefits of this para militarization of policing. The justification of the militarization of police stem from the faery tale discourse of the decline and degradation of the inner city on broken-windows type of theory. Broken windows has been spoken of so much. Spoken of so much in terms of criminology that dovetails nicely with this neoliberal governmental status quo of the crime control model. It is actually a piece of academic work. Justify new harsh crime control methods that dovetail nicely with what neoliberal policing is. What we need to do is take a better accounting of what is really going on. We the general citizen through the use of our technology, hold them accountable. He highlighted how larger social values are becoming militarized.
