EDPJ 1000 Lecture Notes - Lecture 1: John Dewey
Document Summary
In preparing the seminar questions i utilized many different strategies that allowed me to formulate questions that were applicable to my audience of future educators. While reading the chapter i was in constant thought of how i could generate discussions that can lead to my colleagues discovering new methods they can bring into their own classrooms. Furthermore, i had many worries that the content covered in chapter 1 would be difficult to interpret and translate to my seminar group. The reason being that the concept of reflection itself is one that society has preconceived understandings with regard to its definition. My worry is that my seminar members will be tempted to constantly disagree with the points that i make when explaining its history and our meaning of the term in today"s society. As it was discussed in the chapter, the definitions of reflection are ones that evolve over time for various different reasons.
