Document Summary

Lecture six: narratology ii: study of english literature is not a subjective study it is based on detailed analysis. The point of the terminology is helping you be much more exact, precise and specific in terms of analyzing the text. It helps us unpack the how and the why of the text. Sjuzet: is what we hold in our hands and the final product. It looks like you can actually look at what is being described: diegesis: it is telling you what is happening. We have no outside voice on which we can rely and we have these two bias narrators. An extradiegetic narrator may be more reliable because they have a suto objectivity. Or an intradiegetic narrator might be more reliable because they are inside the story and can tell us what is happening which makes them gain authenticity. That plot is heading towards a resolution of some kind.
