Archaic age = 700-480 bce ( rst stone temples) 550 bce - doric architecture is standardized (the doric column in parthenon) 530 bce = pythagoras mathematician (pythagorean theorem) 490 bce = beginning of person war. 485 bce = xerxes - also attacks the greeks & gets all the way to athens, more successful than darius. 480 bce = persians destroy the acropolis. 479 bce = greeks defeat the persians. ^ up until here all greek cities were separate kingdoms & now identify as. Classic age = 478 bce - 330 bce. 478 bce: athens becomes delian league of greek states.
