ESSE 3600 Lecture Notes - Arcgis, Arcmap
Document Summary
As part of the annual council review for the fictitious city of greenvalley, a water use map has been generated with the help of arcgis (sohn, 2013). The purpose of this exercise was to generate a water use map for the city council, and to get introduced to the arcgis program. In addition, a schematic map of the downtown area of greenvalley has been shown in figure 1. The map has been modified to water usage in the area, and a representation of this has been shown in figure 2. The following responses have been obtained with the help of arccatalog10: there are five datasets in the tutorial folder, the data types available in the downtown greenvalley mains and water use map are buildings, watermains, and parks. It is easy to control the scale of visualization in arcmap because the scale can be modified using parameters such as 1:5000, 1:100000, and so on.
