Latin communities: all rights but they couldn"t vote assemblies, become magistrates, etc o o. Allied communities: no roman citizen rights o. Relationship with rome was done through a treaty. Usually in roman favour: had to provide troops for the romans when the romans asked for them. First samnite war, 343-341 bce o o o. Capua gives themselves to rome and to force rome to defend its new territory. Romans defeat the latins and dissolve the latin league: gave the latin communities a status differing among the latin communities. This would make these cities incapable of banding together to resist rome.
