Upper class: king, family, relatives, minor kings, subordinate: governors. When the priest had an established religion, the religion came to the law. 3 very clear castes in the bold, during khosrow reign the 4-caste system came through. The roots of the caste system, both in india and iran were the same roots. Above the 4 castes, seats the king- social position he is supposed to be praised consistently. The shah must maintain a separation between himself and the people. If you had an audience with the shah, was a rare moment, the shah would only talk to the person through a curtain. The proper behave of the shahn shah is to not look at you in the eyes. Festivals -2 festivals which the shahn shah had to show himself in pubic: norouz, mehraghan- celebration of god mithra.
