Boer war show an industrialization of warfare and valuable lessons for the first world war. Germany - austria-hungary - italy (1882) italy drops out in 1914. France - russia (1894) franco - russian alliance. Britain - russia (1907) anglo-russian agreement (afghan/tibet and persia) These alliances were the reason that the first world war became so big.
